Mayor Steve Girodat called the meeting to order in the Pekin
Community Center at 7:00 pm.
Members present: Mayor Steve Girodat, Duane Avdem, Gary Beier,
Dean Ensrud and Jane Hanson, Auditor
Members Absent: Marvin Massey
The City minutes of June 4, 2008 were sent out prior to the meeting.
Motion to approve the minutes was made by Avdem, seconded by
Beier and the motion carried. Ensrud motioned to approve the
financial report, seconded by Avdem, and the motion carried.
Dean Ensrud was sworn in for another four year term and Marvin
Massey will be sworn in at the August meeting.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Auditor will give Ohnstad Electric the information on the pump
house so they can get started with the digging for the underground
lines.
NEW BUSINESS:
Beier motioned to pay the membership dues to the North Dakota
League of Cities - seconded by Ensrud and the motion carried.
Ensrud made a motion not to bill the Community Center for the
property insurance - seconded by Beier and the motion carried.
It is almost time to start working on the annual budget for 2009. A new
roof for the pump house will be in the budget.
July bills were presented for payment:

USDA (auto deducted) - $583.54
Nodak Electric - $34.00
Insurance (fire & tornado) - $603.79
Best Buy (6 ink cartridges) - $116.41
Plant Ranch (Park Board) - $124.45

ND League of Cities - $176.00
Motion to pay bills by Beier, seconded by Avdem, and the motion
carried.
Next City Council Meeting will be August 6, 2008 at 7:00 PM.
